Marddy’s, a shared community kitchen, received a $15,000 Civic Impact Loan from AEMI in 2017 for marketing, staffing, and equipment purchases. Because of local displacement, home cooks are losing market share in their communities. Marddy’s creates a place for home cooks to prepare and sell their offerings in a licensed facility. Located on the Westside of Atlanta, this vending space serves as a bridge to new sources of revenue for local culinary entrepreneurs. In addition to the shared kitchen space, Marddy’s offers business training for home chefs and ServeSafe certification scholarships. For more information, visit
