In 2017, an $8,000,000 NMTC transaction allocation funds to finance the renovation and modernization of Grady Women’s & Infants’ Center located on four floors of Grady Memorial Hospital in Downtown Atlanta. After two decades with no capital investments, the 70,000-square foot Center will now exceed market standards. In addition to a renovation, a patient-centered hospital design will be implemented and include a dedicated entry, lobby and elevators, as well as a Family Birthing Center, a Mother and Baby Unit, and the expansion of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The scope of improved services includes information and education related to maternal centered health programs and will reach almost 54,000 individuals annually, an increase of almost 11,000. Individuals will also be provided with education through 39+ Weeks, a program operated in partnership with the Georgia Department of Health.
