In 2010, AEMI closed on a $12,000,000 NMTC transaction to finance the redevelopment of the 200 Peachtree building. The former Macy’s flagship department store in downtown Atlanta had sat vacant since 2003 and was a major blight in Atlanta’s central employment district. The developer combined gap financing from NMTC with their own equity and bank loans to renovate the historic building. The 185,000 square foot building now includes special-purpose event space, three full-service restaurants, and flexible-lease office space.
